The shipment is regarded a success of the animal farming sector as this is the first time a company in Viet Nam has satisfied another country’s technical and quality requirements to export pork.

It is an important channel to bring agricultural products, especially animal products of Viet Nam to global markets.

Viet Nam exported the first batch of chicken to Japan last year, and Japan has permitted the Vietnamese chicken exporter to expand production and shipment to this market.

The country has also been exporting suckling pig products to Hong Kong (China), Malaysia and some other markets.

Chairman of the Mavin Group David John Whitehead said the company plans to export at least one 40-foot container of fresh pork, equivalent to 26 tons to Myanmar each month in the upcoming time.
At the ceremony, Mavin and Sojitz Viet Nam inked a memorandum of understanding on bilateral cooperation. Accordingly, Sojitz will help connect Mavin with other partners in the world.
