Phu Bai int’l airport to receive three million passengers by 2020

VGP – The central province of Thua Thien-Hue is planning to expand Phu Bai International Airport, striving to welcome 3-3.5 million passengers by 2020 and 6.5-7 million ones per year by 2025.

The airport will expand its terminal, runway, ramp and aircraft parking with the total investment of VND5,560 billion.

Phu Bai International Airport plays a crucial role in the province’s economic development, culture and defense as well as a bridging role between the locality and other areas in the world, making crucial contributions to exploiting tourist potentials of Hue's Imperial Citadel and the central region.

In 2017, the airport served 1.75 million passengers, witnessing average annual growth of 15%.
