Law on special administrative and economic units may not be approved in June

VGP – The Government and the National Assembly Standing Committee have agreed to ask the Legislature NOT to approve the Law on special administrative and economic units in June this year to have more time for further research and completion.

 The draft law, planned to be approved at the ongoing 5th working session of the National Assembly, will be brought to discussion at the 6th working session following public comments on some contents of the bill, including duration for land lease.

 The bill is designed to give a strong boost the development of three special administrative and economic units, namely Van Don (Quang Ninh province), Bac Van Phong (Khanh Hoa province), and Phu Quoc (Kien Giang province) and room for institutional experiments./.
