Notable directions of Government, PM between May 28 and June 1

VGP – Taking urgent measures to ensure transport order and safety; accelerating efforts to minimize railway accidents; and approving a plan on restructuring the industrial sector, are among the key directions made by the Government and the Prime Minister during the week of May 28-June 1, 2018.

Taking urgent measures to ensure traffic order and safety

Considering the National Traffic Safety Committee’s reports on the extremely serious accidents over recent times, Permanent Deputy PM Truong Hoa Binh directed ministries, sectors, and localities to promptly take measures to ensure traffic order and safety.

Stepping up efforts to reduce railway accidents

Given the constant occurrence of serious railroad accidents, Permanent Deputy PM Truong Hoa Binh, who also heads of the National Traffic Safety Committee, cabled an urgent message asking the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Transport, and the traffic safety committees of cities and provinces served by railways, to take urgent measures to minimize the railway accidents caused by subjective reasons.

Land use planning in four localities adjusted

The Government issued resolutions concerning the adjustment of land use planning until 2020 and the last-phase land use plan (2016-2020) in four localities, including Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, Lam Dong province, and Binh Thuan province.

Standardizing the process of inspecting the quality of imported and exported goods

Deputy PM Vuong Dinh Hue commented on the standardization of the quality inspection process of imports and exports within the management jurisdiction of ministries and sectors in implementing the application of the National One-Stop Shop (OSS). Besides, he also specified the order, time and steps for implementation of each procedure attached to the responsibilities of the State inspection agency for goods quality with the agencies and organizations involved in the inspection process.

A plan on restructuring the industrial sector

Deputy PM Trinh Dinh Dung signed Decision No. 598/QD-TTg approving a restructuring plan for the industrial sector in the 2018-2020 period, with a vision to 2025. Accordingly, the industrial and construction share in the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) is expected to increase by 30-35% by 2020, while the proportion of the processing and manufacturing products is targeted to hit 85-90% of the total export revenues.
