Minimum salary for public officials increases since July

VGP – Minimum pay rate for public public officials, public employees and armed forced personnel will be increased to VND 1,390,000 per month from the current VND 1,300,000 since July 1, 2018, according to the Government’s Decree No. 72/2018/ND-CP.

This is the second time the Government decided to raise the minimum salary rate over the past 13 months. Last year, the Government promulgated Decree No. 47/2017/ND-CP on April 24, 2017 on statutory pay rate for public officials, public employees and armed forced personnel.

Under Decree 47/2017/ND-CP, the statutory rate was fixed at VND1,300,000 per month instead of VND1,210,000 as earlier stipulated./.
