More Korean airlines launch direct flight to Da Nang

VGP - Air Seoul Inc., the budget unit of Asiana Airlines Inc., of the Republic of Korea (RoK) will launch a new route to the central city of Da Nang this week, according to the airlines’ announcement on May 17.

The first flight to Viet Nam is set to begin at 10:20 p.m. on May 18 (local time), with the 195-seat A321-200 aircraft being deployed on the route. The service will be available every day, according to the carrier.

Currently, six other carriers of the RoK operate flights to DaNang, the city attracting around 500,000 Korean visitors per year. 

Da Nang City is striving to welcome 7.47 million visitors, gaining tourism revenue of VND22,500 billion.

Of the figure, the city expects to attract around 2.7 million foreign tourists and 4.77 million domestic ones this year.

In 2017, Da Nang welcomed more than 6.6 million visitors, including 2.3 million foreign ones, up 39% and 4.3 million domestic ones, up 11.2%. The total revenue from tourism was estimated at VND19,504 billion.
