CPVCC wraps up 7th plenum

Seven plenums of 12th Party Central Committee at a glance

During the six working days, the CPVCC deliberated on building contingent of cadres, especially those at strategic level; reforming salary policies for officials, public employees, civil servants, and staff of armed forces; and social insurance policies.

The delegates also discussed reports on the Party’s inspection and discipline work, performance of Party inspection committees at central and local levels in 2017; report on the Politburo’s work between the 6th and 7th plenums of the CPVCC and Report on the Politburo and CPVCC Secretariat’s leadership in 2017.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the 7th plenum, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong said the CPVCC will adopt a resolution on building contingent of cadres at all levels, especially strategic level to turn Viet Nam into a modern-oriented country by 2030.

The contingent of cadres must have quality, capacity and prestige on par with their talks, according to Party chief Trong.

The Party leader stressed that the Party’s direct and comprehensive leadership over personnel work is a principle that must be strictly and consistently implemented./.
