ASEAN trade, culture exchange event held in HCMC

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Standing Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Le Thanh Liem stressed that the festival aimed to strengthen friendship and cooperation between the ASEAN countries and international partners, promote trade, investment, tourism, education and cultural exchanges between Viet Nam and other countries, especially the ASEAN nations.

It features more than 150 display booths, including 110 trade pavilions and over 40 cuisine stalls.

Visitors will have a chance to enjoy a wide range of activities during the event, such as traditional art performances presenting various cultures, exhibition on products of Viet Nam and ASEAN countries.

The event, hosted by the municipal People’s Committee, is to mark Viet Nam’s 43rd Reunification Day (April 30) and the third founding anniversary of the ASEAN Economic Community.

The event will run until April 22.
