Iranian Parliament Speaker begins official visit to VN

VGP - Speaker of the Parliament of Iran Ali Ardeshir Larijani arrived in Viet Nam on April 15 to start an official visit to the country at the invitation of National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

Ali Ardeshir Larijani was accompanied by members of the Parliament: Mohammad Ashuri Taziani, member of the Presiding Board of the Parliament of Iran; Mohammad Mahmoudi Shahnesin, member of Parliament and member of the Iran-Viet Nam Parliamentary Friendship Group; Nazar Afzali, member of the Agriculture Committee; Soheila Jelodarzadeh, member of the Social Affairs Committee; Mohammad Jafari, Advisor and Chairman of the Office of the Parliament; Hossein Panahi Azar, Deputy Minister for Iranian Expatriates' and Parliamentary Affairs; Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Iranian Parliament Speaker's Special Aide in International Affairs.

He will be in the country until April 18.

The two countries set up diplomatic ties on August 4, 1973. Since then, Viet Nam and Iran have continuously enhanced bilateral cooperation in all fields and supported each other at global multilateral forums. 

Leaders of the two countries have agreed to make efforts to raise two-way trade value to US$2 billion.
