VN Book Day to be held

VGP - Viet Nam Book Day will be held from April 18-22, gathering hundreds of booths from different publishing houses and printing companies nationwide.

According to the Ministry of Information and Communications there will be more than 50,000 titles to choose from, with plenty of discounts.

The event is expected to attract the participation of nearly 80 publishers and publishing companies that will showcase their books at more than 100 booths.

It aims to foster connectivity between authors and readers, while encouraging and developing the reading culture among the community, and helping to build a society of constant learners.

New and impressive titles will be introduced and discussed, and readers will have the chance to exchange with authors. A number of seminars on literature will be held.

The annual Viet Nam Book Day has become a much loved festival of the community and an important cultural event in its own right. Events honouring the reading culture will take place in various regions nationwide.

According to Director of the Department of Publishing, Printing and Distribution, Hoa, the Viet Nam Book Day 2018 is also a premise to review the five-year implementation of Decision No. 284 / QD-TTg on Viet Nam Book Day.

Over recent years, Viet Nam Book Day has become more and more widely spread, contributing to the development of the publishing industry, and is an occasion to spread reading cultural values to the people.
