Da Nang – attractive investment destination for Czech businesses

VGP – The Czech Republic has selected Viet Nam as one of its 12 strategic export markets till 2020.

The information was released at the Czech-Viet Nam Business Seminar on April 12 in the central city of Da Nang. 

The event attracted a number of Czech enterprises to seek for investment opportunities and expand operation. 

Director of the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) in Da Nang City Nguyen Tien Quang expected that the Viet Nam-EU Free Trade Agreement, which is expected to be signed in 2018, will create more chances between Viet Nam and the EU in general and Viet Nam and the Czech Republic in particular. 

He stressed that Da Nang City is always listed as the top destination for investment in Viet Nam. In 2017, the city’s total export and import value attained US$1.7 billion. As much as US$3 billion were invested in 540 projects in the city.  

In the future, the city will make efforts to improve the investment and business environments and complete policies to attract more capital from the private sector. 

Speaking at the event, Czech Deputy Minister Industry and Trade Vladimir Bartl highlighted the trade opportunities between the two nations’ businesses, especially the two-way trade value of US$1 billion in 2017, including Viet Nam’s export value of US$800 million. 

He realized investment and cooperation opportunities in Da Nang City in fields of mechanics, biological industry and nano industry.
