RoK ambassador awarded Viet Nam’s friendship medal

VGP – Outgoing Ambassador of the Republic of Korea (RoK) to Viet Nam Lee Hyuk has been awarded with the medal ‘for Peace and Friendship among Nations’ by Vice President and General Secretary of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) Don Tuan Phong.

At a conferral ceremony, VUFO’s Vice President Phong said that the outgoing Ambassador of RoK  has made significant contributions to strengthening the friendship between the peoples of Viet Nam and the RoK during his tenure.

Meanwhile, he expressed his belief that the Ambassador would continue to promote Viet Nam-RoK relations in any role he takes on in the future.

The Ambassador also supported activities of the VUFO and the Viet Nam-RoK Friendship Association in general as well as people-to-people exchanges in particular, Phong said, adding that Lee Hyuk had visited many places and met with a lot of people in Viet Nam to gain deep understanding about the Southeast Asian country.

Phong expressed his hope that Lee, in any position, will make more contributions to reinforcing and developing the friendly cooperative relations between Viet Nam and the RoK.

For his part, Lee said that the nearly four years he has worked in Viet Nam have been an important time of his diplomatic career.

The diplomat also expressed his gratitude to the leaders of the VUFO and the Viet Nam-the Republic of Korea Friendship Association for their cooperation in the recent past.
