VN Festival underway at Japan’s Aichi prefecture

VGP - A ‘Viet Nam Festival in Aichi 2018 – Ho Chi Minh City Integration and Development’ program has been held in Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture, attracting thousands of participants and particularly highlighting the twin relations between HCM City and Aichi Prefecture, and between the two countries.

The opening ceremony of the festival were attended by Former Vice President Truong My Hoa, Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Nguyen Quoc Cuong, Governor of Japan’s Aichi Prefecture Hideaki Ohmura, Nagoya Mayor Takashi Kawamura, and Ho Chi Minh City's tourism ambassador in Aichi Noriko Hirose.

Addressing the event, chairman of the HCM City People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong said the festival provided Aichi people with new perspectives of economics, culture, arts, and tourism in Viet Nam and HCM City, helping to tighten the close ties of cooperation between the two localities and those between Viet Nam and Japan.

Ms. Noriko Hirose hoped the festival would help Japanese people learn about the land and Vietnamese people and overseas Vietnamese relieve feelings of homesickness.

The Vietnamese festival in Aichi 2018 inluded a series of cultural activities, such as exhibition on Ho Chi Minh City; art programs; traditional music performances; Ao dai fashion show; the presentation of Vietnamese food, folk musical instruments and calligraphy; the introduction of activities promoting relationship, cultural, sport and tourism exchanges between Viet Nam and Japan, Ho Chi Minh City and Aichi.
