Hai Phong attracts more than US$900 million in FDI

VGP – The northern city of Hai Phong attracted more than US$916 million in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) from 15 newly-registered projects and capital increase in 12 existing projects in the first quarter of 2018, a year-on-year increase of 332.34%.

The number of FDI valid projects in the city was estimated at 532 ones, worth US$15.44 billion.

The achievements are mainly attributed to the city’s efforts to reform the administrative procedures, improve the investment environment, tackle difficulties for businesses, boost trade and attract investment, said Chairman of the city’s People’s Committee Nguyen Van Tung.

The city successfully organized a number of trade and investment promotion and tourism activities in Japan and a meeting with businesses in 2018 with the participation of around 400 foreign and domestic enterprises.

The proportion of enterprises undertaking online procedures reached 67.89%.
