PM receives Chinese FM

VGP – Viet Nam attaches importance to the friendship and comprehensive cooperation with China and sees the maintenance of sustainable relations as suitable with the long-term benefits of the two countries' peoples, contributing to regional peace, stability, cooperation and development.

PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc made that statement at his reception for Chinese FM Wang Yi on March 31 who was on an official visit to Viet Nam attended the sixth Greater Mekong Subregion(GMS-6) Summit in Ha Noi. 

The PM proposed enhancing the active development of the two nations’ relationship through high-ranking visits and exchanges and addressing issues and obstacles in economic, trade and investment relations to bring benefits for both. 

He asked to promote exchanges and launch measures to accelerate bilateral trade value in a more balance way, suggesting China facilitate the import of more Viet Nam’s products, invest in high-tech and environmentally -friendly projects featuring China's capacity as well as enhance cooperation in transport, agriculture, environment, science-technology and finance. 

China should create favorable conditions for Viet Nam to get access to preferential loans from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) and other Chinese commercial banks and investment funds, he said, asking China to help Viet Nam effectively realize its aid for Viet Nam.  

Regarding the sea issues, the Vietnamese leader asserted that the two nations should strictly implement the agreement on the basic principles guiding the settlement of issues at sea between Viet Nam and China, respecting mutual legal rights in line with the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea 1982 and actively enhancing negotiation mechanisms to control disputes and maintain peace and stability in the East Sea. 

Mr. Wang Yi congratulated Viet Nam on its successful organization of the GMS-6, confirming that the Chinese Party, Government and people are willing to join hands with Viet Nam in promoting the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, seizing opportunities to strengthen cooperation in all fields as well as closely controlling the situations and addressing disputes to maintain peace and stability in the East Sea.
