The nation exported 190,000 tons of coffee in March, valued US$367 million, raising the total export turnover in the first quarter to 520,000 tons, worth US$1 billion.
The export turnover of cashew in March attained 26,000 tons, gaining US$265 million, raising the total export turnover in three months to 73,000 tons, worth US$739 million, up 30.9% in volume and 43.6% in value.
Other key export agricultural products in the first quarter of 2018 consisted of rubber (272,000 tons, worth US$403 million), tea (25,000 tons, valued US$39 million) and peppercorn (54,000 tons, worth US$203 million).
The nation earned US$661 million from exporting wood and wooden products in March, raising the total export value to US$1.87 billion in the first quarter, a year-on-year increase of 5.8%.
The U.S., China, Japan and the Republic of Korea (RoK) were the largest timber importers of Viet Nam in the first two months of 2018, accounting for 77.6%.
The exports of aquatic products in March was estimated at US$604 million, making the total export value of aquatic products in three months up to US$1.7 billion, up 11.5%.
The U.S., Japan, China and the RoK took the lead in importing Viet Nam’s aquatic products, making up 50.5% of the total.
