VN willing to support NZ to organize APEC 2021

Deputy PM, FM Winston Peters hailed the role of Viet Nam as the host of the APEC Economic Leaders' Week 2017.

Deputy PM Pham Binh Minh asserted Viet Nam is willing to share experience and support New Zealand to organize the APEC year in 2021. 

The two sides agreed to enhance the realization of the Action Program in the 2017-2020 phase, contributing to upgrading the bilateral relationship to a Strategic Partnership. 

They highly appraised the close cooperation between their Ministries of Foreign Affairs, affirming to continue cooperating in strategic areas in both bilateral and multi-lateral aspects.

The two leaders consented to soon organize the 11th political consultancy at foreign ministerial level in New Zealand. 

They discussed issues of mutual and international concerns, including recent developments at the Korean Peninsula and the East Sea, expressing their support for ASEAN and China to promote negotiations on the Code of Conduct in the East Sea (COC). 

The same occasion, Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh invited Kiwi counterpart to soon pay an official visit to Viet Nam.
