PM Phuc holds phone talks with NZ Governor-General

VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc affirmed Viet Nam attaches importance to further strengthening the relationship with New Zealand, during his phone talks with Governor-General Dame Patsy Reddy on Tuesday.

The Vietnamese Government chief appreciated New Zealand’s effective support and assistance for Viet Nam’s international integration process.

He briefed the host about the outcomes of his bilateral meeting with New Zealander counterpart Jacinda Ardern, expressing his pleasure at the positive advancement of the two countries’ cooperation at bilateral and multilateral levels, especially since the two countries established the Comprehensive Partnership in 2009.

Especially, the two sides’ political trust and mutual understanding have been increasingly consolidated and enhanced through the exchanges of high-level delegations and contacts, PM Phuc stressed.

He also thanked New Zeland for supporting Viet Nam to successfully host the APEC Year 2017.

Welcoming PM Phuc and his delegation to New Zealand, Governor-General Dame Patsy spoke highly of the bilateral meeting between the two PMs, during which both sides assigned inferior levels to actively and effectively realize the Plan of Action 2017-2020 as well as to expeditiously conclude talks and consultations by 2019 on a Strategic Partnership elevation in the near future as mutually agreed.

Dame Patsy called on the two countries to accelerate education cooperation, a pillar of the bilateral ties.

PM Phuc took the occasion to forward the invitation of State President Tran Dai Quang to Governor -General Dame Patsy Reddy to pay a state visit to Viet Nam at her convenience./.
