Vietnamese delegation visits U.S. aircraft carrier

VGP – A Vietnamese interdisciplinary delegation visited Carl Vinson aircraft carrier of the US to learn about daily activities and duties of sailors and aviators there.

The move aimed to promote mutual  understanding in the spirit of the comprehensive partnership between Viet Nam and the U.S. 

At the invitation of the U.S. Embassy in Viet Nam, the Vietnamese delegation came to visit the aircraft carrier from March 3-4 when it anchored in  international waters near Viet Nam. 

The Vietnamese official delegation was introduced to the operational regulations of Carl Vinson. They enjoyed the opportunities to observe daily activities  of the sailors and aviators onboard.

Earlier, a group of U.S. navy ships including an aircraft carrier, a cruiser, and a destroyer were permitted to visit Da Nang from March 5-9. 

The program was reached by Vietnamese Minister of National Defense Ngo Xuan Lich and U.S. Defense Secretary James Mattis during the latter’s official visit to Viet Nam from January 24-25, 2018, targeting to promote the comprehensive partnership; contributing to maintaining peace, stability, security, cooperation, and development in the region./.
