The Head of State highlighted Viet Nam’s major achievements across fields in 2017. Especially, this was the first time in many years Viet Nam achieved all the 13 socio-economic development goals set by the National Assembly.

“The macro-economy was stable, inflation was put under control, budget revenues and major balances of the economy were guaranteed. The GDP grew 6.81%. Export-import turnover reached its highest-ever of US$ 425 billion,” Mr. Quang said.

He also highlighted that 2017 was a special year for the diplomatic sector as the country successfully hosted the APEC Year 2017 amid fast-changing and complicated global context.

State President Quang reaffirmed that the OV community remains an indispensible part of the Vietnamese nation.

The Party and the State will continue supporting and creating favorable conditions for OVs to integrate into host countries and make further contributions to national development, the State President asserted.

Speaking at the event, Deputy PM Minh said that over 2,100 enterprises owned by Ovs have poured around US$ 2.92 billion in various projects in 52 cities and provinces in Viet Nam.

A large number of OVs also have actively partaken in annual events like the Homeland Spring, visiting Truong Sa archipelago, and summer camps for Vietnamese youth.
