The Maldives declared a 15-day state of emergency starting from February 5 due to a political crisis.

Vietnamese citizens, who are learning, working or visiting the island country, are recommended to avoid crowded and sensitive places and keep a close watch on warnings of local authorized offices to ensure safety.

In case of emergency, it is recommended to contact the hotline of the Vietnamese Embassy in Sri Lanka (cum the Maldives) 94.11.2696050 or the citizen protection hotline 84.981.84.84.84.
