Japan helps develop organic agriculture in Ben Tre

VGP - Japanese government non-refundable aid worth more than US$158,200 will be poured into the second phase of a project developing organic agriculture in the southern province of Ben Tre.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Japanese Consul General Kawaue Junichi pledged to provide maximum support for the project.

The second phase of the project will be carried out in four communes of Binh Dai and Ba Tri districts by the Japanese-funded Seed to Table organisation.

The non-refundable aid contract worth US$ 158,242 will be used for providing technology and equipment, raising knowledge in the organic agriculture produce. 

The organisation will provide farmers with knowledge and equipment for organic agricultural production and processing.

The Consulate General of Japan also will continue assisting for factory construction in the localities.

Last year, Seed to Table, a Japanese non-profit organization with the aim of promoting eco-friendly agriculture and supporting community development in Viet Nam, received an aid contract worth US$ 89,678 to develop the first phase project.
