Cambodian army delegation pays pre-Tet visit to Bac Lieu

VGP - A high-ranking military delegation from the Military Zone 3 of the Cambodian Royal Army led by Commander Duong Sokhon visited the Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on February 1 ahead of the traditional Lunar New Year.

The trip aims to enhance the ties of the two countries’ armies, while affirming the viewpoint and foreign policy of the Party, State and army of Campuchia in the relations with Viet Nam. It also contributes to strengthening special solidarity between the two countries and armies.

At the reception, Sokhon expressed his profound thanks to Viet Nam for assisting Cambodia in the most difficult period and updated Bac Lieu authorities on his country’s socio-economic situation. 

He wished that Bac Lieu and the Cambodian province of Preah Sihanouk will further tighten their ties for mutual development. 

Cambodia will create the most favourable conditions and give priority to developing Preah Sihanouk into a socio-economic-cultural hub of the country, he said. 

In turn, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Phan Nhu Nguyen briefed guests about the local socio-economic development 2017, saying that the province fulfilled and surpassed all plans with relatively high economic growth, progressing trade, and improved local lives. 

He thanked the Cambodian Royal Army for their warm sentiments to Bac Lieu, contributing to further deepening the friendly neighborliness between the two nations.
