Work begins on hi-tech fruit processing plant in Son La province

In her speech at the groundbreaking ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Tong Thi Phong suggested the TH Group accelerate the construction of the factory.

She also called on local authorities to create the most favourable conditions for the group to put its project into operation soon, helping create more jobs and boosting incomes for farmers in the locality.

This is the first factory in Viet Nam that will process juice and concentrated juice from oranges and longan, with the most advanced and fully automatic extraction technology developed by RiekermannGMBH of Germany.

Covering an area of over 14.3 hectares, the US$52.8 million factory is jointly invested in by TH Group and Son La provincial People’s Committee.

Factory will be developed in two phases.

The first phase of the factory is scheduled to begin operation at the end of 2019, with investment capital of VND 300 million (US$13,200).

The plant, with a capacity of 30,000 tons of products per year, will create jobs for nearly 200 employees working directly at the factory and thousands of indirect workers in Son La province.

TH Group is expected to cooperate with farmers in key fruit planting areas in Son La, such as Van Ho, Moc Chau, Mai Son, Bac Yen and Phu Yen in order to create areas to produce the raw materials.

Meanwhile, the second, valued at VND 900 billion, will provide several kinds of canned fruit juices.
