DPM receives U.S. former Secretary of State

VGP – Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh hosted a reception for U.S. former Secretary of State John Kerry on January 10 in Ha Noi.

At the reception, the two sides praised the positive and practical progress in the comprehensive partnership over the past time. 

The host leader praised the contributions of the guest for the better bilateral ties. Deputy PM Minh said Viet Nam attaches importance and priority to the ties with the US in the fields of energy, education, environment, climate change response and water resources protection for sustainable socio-economic development.  

In reply, Mr. John Kerry revealed that his working visit to Viet Nam was on January 10-11, vowed to continue fostering Viet Nam – US ties.

He said Viet Nam holds potential of developing clean and renewable energy in the form of public-private partnership, adding that he is willing to support Viet Nam in the field via connecting the country with potential partners and sharing experience. 

The guest was convinced that the Fulbright University Viet Nam will contribute to high-quality human resources training in the country./.
