Gov’t issues action plan on population

VGP – The Government has issued Resolution 137/NQ-CP on implementation of Resolution 21-NQ/TW on “Population work in the new period.”

The program defines key contents and tasks of ministries, agencies, and localities to build action plans and programs to implement, supervise, and evaluate the Government’s action plan to realize Resolution 21-NQ/TW.

The program aims to vigorously alter awareness and action of all Party and administration levels, the whole political system, and people in population work in the new period; mend shortcomings on the field in favor of national fast and sustainable growth. 

It sets seven specific tasks including enhancement of administrative leadership at all levels; renovation of population campaign contents, perfection of population, laws on population, network development and better service population quality, perfection of population staff contingent, and international cooperation. 

Amendment of population violation penalties

The Government asked ministries, agencies, and localities to continue to implement the campaign on two-child families; ensure rights to and responsibilities for giving birth and taking care of children; compose population contents and modals in line with every region especially those with low replacement fertility and promote education on gender equality.

The Government tasked the Ministry of Justice to work with relevant ministries and agencies to build and issue guidelines so that population policies will be put into reality. 

The Ministry of Health was asked to cooperate with ministries, agencies, and localities to compose and issue a project on screening, diagnosing, and treating prenatal diseases and those for newlyborn babies by 2030.

The Ministry of Health was requested to renovate service provision to users; speed up scientific advances especially in medicine, biology, and IT in population service management./.
