PM assigns tasks for newly-appointed PVN Chairman

Speaking at the ceremony, the PM highlighted the role of the PVN in the national development and protection, asking the group to launch efficient operation and fulfill its political tasks of national defense and security, contributing to affirming the national sovereignty, ensuring energy security and helping improve the status of Viet Nam in the world. 

The PM expected that Mr. Tran Sy Thanh will successfully complete tasks assigned by the Party and State. 

The same occasion, PM Phuc proposed Mr. Thanh and other members in the PVN to stay united to overcome difficulties, closely follow situations in  the East Sea, cooperate with other related agencies to realize more petrol projects on Viet Nam’s continental shelf as well as make contribution to socio-economic development in line with ensuring national defense, protecting and asserting national sovereignty. 

The PM requested the corporation to restructure resources, re-organize, equitize and withdraw capital in the 2017-2020 phase in compliance with  the plan ratified by the PM. 

He asked to resolutely address issues of national key projects and loss-making projects, reduce expenditures and prevent waste.

The PM applauded the PVN on its achievements in 2017, including the contribution to State budget exceeding 30.8% of the set plan and oil and gas exploitations witnessing respective increases of 10.5% and 3% compared to the set plans for the year.
