VN, Japan enhance signing of CPTPP

VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc expected that Viet Nam and Japan will take the lead in promoting the signing of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) at his reception for Japanese Minister of Economic Revitalization Toshimitsu Motegi on December 26 in Ha Noi.

The PM hailed the meaning of the Viet Nam visit of the Japanese Minister, describing it an active contribution to promoting the two nations’ bilateral relationship and trading activities in the Asia-Pacific region. 

He highly valued the outcomes of the working session between the Japanese Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh. The two sides discussed and proposed measures to effectively address various issues, especially contents related to the CPTPP.

Minister Toshimitsu Motegi congratulated Viet Nam on the success of the APEC Economic Leaders' Week, which has heightened the status and role of Viet Nam in the world. 

He highlighted the role of PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Minister Tran Tuan Anh and other Vietnamese relevant agencies in the negotiation process for the deal to form CPTPP during the APEC Economic Leaders' Week. 

He hoped that Viet Nam and Japan will gain more achievements in the future. 

Under the authorization of Japanese PM Shinzo Abe, the Minister said his working visit to Viet Nam is aimed at exchanging ways with relevant sides to soon ink the CPTPP.
