State President bids farewell to South African Ambassador

State President Quang congratulated Ambassador Kgomotso Ruth Magau  on successfully accomplishing her mission in Viet Nam. He treasured the positive contribution of the Ambassador for the friendly relations and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

The host leader asserted that the Vietnamese State always attaches importance to promoting ties with South Africa and other African countries; regarding this as one of priorities in the foreign diplomacy. 

Even though the two-way trade turnover reached over US$ 1 billion, there are abundant potentials for the two countries to tap in the future, said Mr. Quang, adding that the two countries should beef up comprehensive cooperation in fields of strength especially in trade, mining, education, tourism, natural resources, and the environment. 

The Head of State emphasized that in 2018, Viet Nam and South Africa will celebrate the 25th anniversary of diplomatic ties with a series of practical activities to elevate the bilateral ties to a new height.  

In return, Ambassador Kgomotso Ruth Magau said that South Africa has spared no effort to optimize cooperative opportunities with Viet Nam at international forums and beef up economic and commercial ties./.
