Child protection hotline launched

VGP – The Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs has launched a free national hotline - 111 for child protection.

The event drew the attendance of Deputy PM, the Chairman of the National Committee for Children.

Minister of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung said that the hotline targets to receive information and allegations from organizations, education units, families, individuals, and children themselves about child abuse or children at risk of violence, exploitation and neglect. 

It also offers a round-the-clock telephone consultancy about laws, polices, knowledge, and skills regarding the implementation of the rights of the child and child protection. The service is free of charge.

The launch of the hotline will enable relevant agencies and individuals to verify information and provide timely child protection support services.

Minister Dung stressed that Viet Nam was one of the first Asian signatory of the Convention on the Rights of the Child./.
