Agricultural product exports set new record

VGP – As of November 2017, Viet Nam gained US$33.14 billion from exporting agricultural products, a year-on-year increase of 13.8%, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Fruit and vegetable exports saw the highest growth, earning US$3.16 billion in 11 months, up 43.2%. 

China, Japan, the U.S. and the Republic of Korea were Viet Nam’s largest fruit and vegetable importers. 

The export turnover of rice in November was estimated at 389,000 tons, worth US$192 million, raising the total rice exports in 11 months to 5.49 tons, valued at US$2.48 billion, up 23.4% in volume and 24.2% in value. 

China was the largest rice importer of Viet Nam, accounting for 39.8% of the market share.

Rubber exports in 11 months attained US$2.01 billion, up 8.2% in volume and up 38.9% in value against the previous year. 

The nation earned US$728 million from exporting aquatic products, bringing the export value in 11 months to US$7.57 billion, a year-on-year increase of 18.3%. 

The U.S., Japan, China and the Republic of Korea were the largest importers of Vietnamese aquatic products in the first 10 months of 2017, accounting or 58.2% of the total.
