Over 5,000 people join HCMC International Marathon

The 2017 Techcombank HCM City International Marathon offered a chance to introduce the city’s image as a dynamic, innovative, modern and friendly destination for international tourists.  

The tournament had three types including 42 km, 21 km and 10 km events, with the courses running from Thao Cam Vien park in District 1 and finishing at the Empire City Complex in District 2’s Thu Thiem area.

At the end of the tournament, the organizers handed over VND500 million (US$22,000) to the Fund for the Poor and the fund for sport talents of HCM City.

Rotich Jane triumphed in the women’s run with a time of 3:02:34, while Kigen Caroline earned the silver and Vietnamese runner Nguyen Chi won the bronze medal./.
