VN Int'l Textile & Garment Industry Exhibition 2017 opens

VGP – The 17th Viet Nam Int'l Textile & Garment Industry Exhibition 2017 (VTG 2017) is taking place in Ho Chi Minh City.

Most of exhibitors are from mainland China, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Switzerland, the Republic of Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Viet Nam.

With 450 booths, the event displays products from the garment industry, such as textile and apparel processing machines, accessories, fibers, yarn and fabrics.

The exhibition also introduces many new technology machines, such as four-thread super high speed over-lock sewing machine with auto trimmer from China’s TYPICAL, and high-end computerized industrial sewing machine from HIKARI.

Under the framework of the exhibition, a series of seminars will be held to identify challenges and propose solutions for the textile and garment manufacturing chains.   

Speakers from prestigious associations and featured exhibitors will gather at VTG in order to share advice through topics such as Viet Nam’s preparation for free trade agreements (FTA), impacts of the fourth industrial revolution, and overview of Viet Nam’s textile and garment industry.

For the first seven months of the year, Viet Nam attracted US$21.93 billion in foreign direct investment, a surge of 52 per cent compared to the same period in 2016, achieving the highest annual growth rate since 2011.

VN’s textile and garment sectors had US$14.58 billion in outbound shipments in the first six months of the year, representing a significant annual increase of 11.3%. 

A number of seminars will be held during the trade fair. Some of the highlights will focus on how Viet Nam prepares for free trade areas; the impact of the 4.0 industrial revolution; and the future for the market in changing times

The event runs until November 25.
