PM receives Cambodian counterpart at APEC Leaders' Week margin

The PM made that statement on November 11 at his meeting with Cambodian counterpart Samdech Techo Hun Sen on the sidelines of the APEC - ASEAN Informal Dialogue in the central city of Da Nang. 

PM Hun Sen lauded Viet Nam’s initiative to organize the APEC - ASEAN Informal Dialogue, which facilitates Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar to attend some activities within the APEC High-Level Week. 

The two sides hailed active developments in the two nations’ relationship, consenting to direct their ministries, agencies and localities to launch activities in Viet Nam-Cambodia Friendship Year to promote cooperation in fields of trade, investment, defense, security, culture and education. 

The two sides assented to maintain high-ranking delegation exchanges, accelerate bolder landmark planting as well as strive to raise the two-way trade turnover to US$5 billion by 2020. 

They affirmed to join hands in addressing issues related to the legal status of the Vietnamese living in Cambodia in line with the host nation’s regulations.
