Deputy PM Vuong Dinh Hue met with Alibaba CEO Jack Ma on November 6 in Ha Noi.

Chinese billionaire Jack Ma assessed that Viet Nam is a favorable market for e-commerce thanks to a young population and abundant SMEs. The CEO revealed that he hoped to inspire the Vietnamese youth and call upon them to take advantage of business start-up opportunities from e-commerce while visiting Viet Nam for the Viet Nam E-Commerce Forum 2017.

Deputy PM Hue said that the modern industrial revolution has brought back abundant benefits for every country and people. In Viet Nam, e-commerce will contribute to economic transparency in all business and production activities and prevent tax erosion in accordance with the principle that all organizations and individuals enjoy equality in business and tax payment.

The Vietnamese Government, said Mr Hue, has already assigned ministries and agencies to research on e-commerce, including the non-official economic sector.

The host leader hoped that Mr. Jack Ma in particular and Alibaba Group in general would share experience in management and risk control in e-commerce including mobile transactions with Vietnamese ministries, agencies, and localities; and open a Vietnam store on Alibaba.

In reply, billionaire Jack Ma asserted that the Group would share experience with Viet Nam and sign deals on e-commerce development, science, and technology with Viet Nam./.
