VN to host 19th Asian Physics Olympiad

The objective of the project is to successfully host the APhO 2018, thus contributing to encouraging the studying and teaching of physics at schools, detecting and training talented students in physics, and implementing the Party and State’s foreign policy and integration guideline. 

The 19th APhO is scheduled to take place in Ha Noi from May 5 to 15, 2018 with the participation of about 30 delegations from 30 countries and territories around the world, 60 scientific observers, 60 guests accompanying delegations and 17 international invitees.

The National Steering Committee for the APhO 2018 is headed by the Minister of Education and Training. The Deputy Minister of Education and Training is the deputy head of the steering committee, while the Director of the Quality Management Department (under the Ministry of Education and Training) and the headmaster of the Ha Noi University of Science and Technology serve as the committee’s permanent members.

The Steering Committee is responsible for working with ministries, sectors and localities in preparing for and organizing the APhO 2018; directing and supervising the implementation of assigned tasks during the preparation and organization process; directing the development of the APhO preparation and organization plans; directly monitoring the operation of the APhO 2018 Organizing Board; and directing the Ha Noi University of Science and Technology to organize the APhO 2018.
