The Korean delegation consists of Mr. Lee Yong-deuk, President of the Federation of Korean Trade Unions (FKTU); Mr. Lee Soo-young, Chairman of the Korea Employers Federation; and Mr. Sohn Kyung-shik, Chairman of the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI).

Warmly welcoming the Korean delegation to Vietnam, Deputy PM Phạm Gia Khiêm asserted that Vietnam always considers the Republic of Korea as an active partner in in experience exchange and labor cooperation. Annually, Vietnamese employees to work in the Northern Asian country always account for a large number.

Mr. Cho Sung-joon expressed his wish that Vietnam and the Republic of Korea will not cooperate each other in politics, economy and culture but also in all other fields. Every year, the FKTU and KCCI exchange meetings with the Vietnamese counterparts to share their experience on promoting labor market as well as create good favorable conditions for the Korean and Vietnamese business communities to make use of their own advantages. In the time to come, the Republic of Korea will grant US$ 40-50 million to expand some projects in Vietnam, added Mr. Cho Sung-joon.

The year 2007 will witness the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic ties between the two countries. On this occasion, the Government of the Republic of Korea intends to organize the Korean Film Week in Vietnam in May to introduce Korea’s country and people to Vietnam.
