The PM made that statement on September 26 at his reception for Director of the Staff of the Delta Program Commissioner Hermen Borst who is in the southern city of Can Tho to attend the conference on sustainable and climate-resilient development of the Mekong Delta.

The PM said that he toured sea dykes and irrigational works in key lower reaches during his official visit to Netherlands in July, realizing similarity to those in the Mekong Delta where he visited the same day by helicopter.

He proposed Mr. Hermen Borst share experience and make a speech at the conference on sustainable and climate-resilient development of the Mekong Delta.

For his side, Mr. Hermen Borst highlighted the importance of shifting to multi-sectoral and multi-dimensional approaches and harmonizing interests of relevant parties such as agriculture, energy and water management.

PM Phuc highly appraised the establishment of a coordination board and formation of  a regional fund like in the Netherlands, expecting to set up a hot line between Viet Nam and the Dutch Delta Program Commissioner for further information exchange.
