Vietnam wants closer economic and trade cooperation with Malaysia

In the January 19 afternoon, at the head office of the Government, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng had a reception to Malaysian Ambassador to Vietnam, Mr. Ahmad Anuar Abdul Hamid. Showing his gladness to the good development of the two countries’ long-term friendly neighborhood, the PM said that, Vietnam and Malaysia, as ASEAN countries members, should further their comprehensive cooperation in all fields to fulfill their potentials and enhance their positions in the international arena.

The Vietnamese Government is always willing to provide best conditions for Malaysian enterprises to do investment in Vietnam, especially in energy, electricity, oil and gas, education and training, labor cooperation, striving to increase the two-way trade turnover to US$ 2 billion in 2007, confirmed the PM. He highly appreciated the Vietnam-Malaysia cooperation in exploiting oil and gas in the overlapping waters over the past time and considered it an exemplary sign of the investment relation between the two countries.

Appreciating and thanking the Vietnamese people’s good sentiments to Malaysian people and himself, Ambassador Ahmad Anuar Abdul Hamid pledged that in whatever post he will be, he will encourage Malaysian corporations and companies to further their investment in Vietnam, seeking to keep the fine friendship of the two countries going on.
