Gov’t provides rice relief for storm Doksuri victims

VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc has agreed to provide food aid for victims of tropical storm Doksuri, the tenth typhoon in Viet Nam this year.

PM Phuc made the decision after inspecting damage and directing consequences of the tenth tropical storm in Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, and Nghe An provinces.

The PM agreed to put aside VND 40 billion from the State budget to build two new television towers at Huong Khe district and Ky Anh town.

PM Phuc also gave a nod to provide 3,000 tons of rice in advance for Quang Binh province.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development was asked to support Ha Tinh and Quang Binh provinces to grow paddy and vegetables.

Earlier, tropical storm Doksuri made heavy landfall in the Central region and affected Ha Tinh and Quang Binh provinces, leading to serious human loss, and property damage worth over VND 11 trillion (US$ 517 million)./.
