Exports to Algeria up 26% in eight months

VGP – As of September 2017, Viet Nam’s total export turnover to Algeria reached US$227.86 million, a year-on-year increase of 26%, according to Viet Nam's trade office in Algeria.

Key export items include coffee with 38,667 tons worth US$84.31 million, phones and accessories US$58.77 million, rice with 29,311 tons valued at US$11.53 million.

Algeria was the fourth largest export market of Viet Nam in Africa, after South Africa, Ghana and Egypt.

In 2017, the two nations have organized a number of events to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties.

Viet Nam's trade office in Algeria have held trade promotion activities such as organizing a conference to introduce export potentials between the two nations and supporting two Vietnamese business delegations to attend international fairs and exhibitions.

In addition, the Ministry of Industry and Trade organized a delegation on trade promotion to Algeria to work with relevant ministries and agencies to discuss measures to enhance cooperation in 2017 and the upcoming years.
