Computers, electronics, phones exports exceed US$42 bln

VGP – Viet Nam gained nearly US$42 billion from exporting computers, electronics and phones over the recent eight months of the year, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The exports of phones and accessories reached US$26 billion, up 14.8% against the same period last year, equivalent to an increase of US$ 3.35 billion. Key export markets include the UK, Brazil, the Republic of Korea, the Netherlands and China.

The nation earned US$15.7 billion from exporting electronics and spare parts, up 39.3%, equal to a rise of US$4.44 billion.

Besides traditional export markets such as China, the U.S. and Japan, Viet Nam’s businesses gained success in developing and expanding exports to other nations such as the Republic of Korea, , Canada, China and Russia, and ASEAN.

The exports of the processing industry was estimated at US$107.1 billion in eight months, a year-on-year increase of 18%, accounting for 80.2% of the total export value.
