DPM grants interview to Chinese press agencies

When asked about achievements in Viet Nam-China relations in fields of politics, economics and trade and prospects in the two nations’ cooperation in the future, the Vietnamese Deputy PM asserted that Viet Nam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership have been promoted in all fields.

Since early 2017, two high-ranking visits were organized, including Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and State President Tran Dai Quang’s visits to China in January and May, respectively and the upcoming visit of Party General Secretary, President Xi Jinping to Viet Nam to attend Viet Nam APEC 2017 in next November.

Chinese investors have poured US$11 billion into Viet Nam, ranking eighth among 116 nations and territories investing in the country. China also took the lead in the number of visitors coming to Viet Nam and Viet Nam ranked first in ASEAN in terms of the number of travelers to China.

He suggested the two sides continue launching crucial agreements reached by their high-ranking leaders and enhance high-ranking visits and people-to-people exchanges to bring benefits for both sides’ peoples.

Regarding Viet Nam’s participation in the CAEXPO with the largest scale among ASEAN nations, Deputy PM Truong Hoa Binh highlighted the crucial meaning of the CAEXPO and CABIS in the cooperation between China and ASEAN and its contribution to the ASEAN-China Strategic Partnership.

Viet Nam has attached importance to and advocated the ASEAN-China cooperation, willing to uphold the bridging role between the ASEAN Economic Community and China and maintaining peace, stability, development and prosperity in the region, he said, adding that Viet Nam always encourages and facilitates businesses from ASEAN and China to expand operation and investment in Viet Nam.

Viet Nam’s participation in these events manifests the Vietnamese Government, localities and businesses’ respect for strengthening comprehensive cooperation with China and its localities, enhancing cooperation between China and ASEAN.

It also creates an opportunity to introduce the image, brand name and products of Viet Nam to promote exports of Vietnamese key products to ASEAN and China.

In term of the development in Viet Nam-Guangxi relations, Deputy PM Truong Hoa Binh confirmed that Guangxi has taken years becoming the lead in enhancing economics and trade with Viet Nam, especially in such areas as tourism, agriculture, culture, education, people-to-people exchanges and border management.

He highly appraised efforts of Guangxi and other Vietnamese border localities in consolidating the friendship and traditional relations, contributing to Viet Nam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.

The Deputy PM suggested Guangxi and other Vietnamese localities actively exchange and take effective measures to realize the joint agreements reached by their high-ranking leaders, facilitate clearance activities, implement legal documents on land border management, strengthen crime prevention and maintain border safety and order for the shared border line of peace, stability, cooperation and development.
