DPM meets Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Party Secretary

At the meeting, the Vietnamese Deputy PM confirmed that the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, which shares the border line with Viet Nam, plays a crucial role in consolidating and developing the nations’ relationship.

He hailed Viet Nam-Guangxi trade turnover of US$25 billion in 2016, up 15.3%, proposing measures to strengthen cooperative relations between Vietnamese ministries, agencies and localities and Guangxi in the future.

He suggested the two sides enhance exchanges and meetings between their high-ranking leaders, promote people-to-people exchanges, especially those living in border areas to accelerate Viet Nam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership as well as uphold current cooperative mechanisms, boost border management cooperation and facilitate cooperation and development between the two sides.

Mr. Peng Qinghua asserted that the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region attaches importance to and expects to promote the traditional and cooperative relationship with Vietnamese ministries, agencies and localities.

He expressed his hope to coordinate with Vietnamese relevant localities to enhance exchanges on infrastructure and transport projects and accelerate economic, trade and tourism cooperation.

He is scheduled to attend a ceremony marking the completion of the Viet Nam-China Bac Luan II Bridge at the Mong Cai Border Gate in Viet Nam’s northern province of Quang Ninh on September 13.
