Addressing the opening ceremony, Deputy PM Dung assessed that the Viet Nam-Russia relations have unceasingly flourished over the last 65 years.

The Vietnamese Government and people always keep in mind and treasure the great assistance of Russia in national liberation and development, said Mr. Dung.

Especially, since the comprehensive strategic partnership was founded in 2012, the bilateral ties have developed in all fields, significantly contributing to the respective cause of national construction and development.

Right upon the opening ceremony of the meeting, the two Deputy PMs joined a private meeting to exchange views and approve effective measures to cement and deepen the bilateral ties especially in export and import of agro-forestry-fishery products, industrial products, peaceful nuclear power, oil and gas, and labor.

The bilateral trade has rebounded vigorously especially following the enactment of the Free Trade Agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and Viet Nam last October.

In the first seven months of 2017, two-way trade turnover hit nearly US$ 2 billion, representing a year-on-year increase of 27%.

At the 20th meeting, the two sides will discuss ways to promote the relations in economics-trade, science-technology, export, number and quality of prioritized projects./.
