VN eyes tourism promotion at key markets

VGP – The Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism will organize a tourism promotion program in China from August 18-23.

The event is one of a series of the 2017 national tourism promotion program.

The tourism promotion program in China will take place at Xiamen (in southeastern Fujian), Baotou (Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region),  Nanchang ( the capital of Jiangxi Province in southeastern China).

China is one of leading tourism market of Viet Nam. Last year, Viet Nam welcomed 2.6 million Chinese tourists, up 51.4% against 2015. In the first seven months, 2.2 million Chinese guests arrived in Viet Nam, up 51% against the same period.

The National Administration of Tourism  was upbeat about potential markets including the markets bordering Viet Nam (China, Laos, and Cambodia); near markets (ASEAN member states); large-scale population market (the RoK, Japan, and Taiwan); and others (Russia, Australia, New Zealand).

In August-September, the National Administration of Tourism  will host tourism promotion programs in Australia (from August 15-18); Northern Europe (September 13-20); ASEAN countries (from late August to early September 2017); Japan (September 16-22).

It will participate in international fairs namely the JATA Tourism Expo in Tokyo, Japan from September 21-24; TOP RESA International French Travel Market for Trade visitors in Paris from September 26-29; ITF International Tourism Fair for Trade visitors and public in Taiwan from October 27-30, and WTM in London from November 6-10.

In addition, it promoted tourism activities at websites vietnamtourism.gov.vn (on tourism policies); vietnamtourism.comvietnamtourism.vn (on tourism destinations and products) and social networks (namely Youtube, Facebook, and Vietnam Timeless-charm)./.
