The program will introduce measures to accelerate domestic trade and meet requirements of Vietnamese consumers.

A series of market surveys will be conducted to well-equip business and production enterprises with helpful information of consumers, Vietnamese goods and their market share, distribution network, and business capability of enterprises.

In addition, there will be seminars and discussions where enterprises can share experience and lessons of success and failure, seek opportunities for cooperation, expand their distribution system, and sell their products.

The program also finances some regional-level fairs of agro-produce and handicraft goods.

From April 27 to May 3, the MIT plans to back the “Week of Vietnamese products” Program which will be launched at stores, supermarkets, and shopping malls throughout the country.

Over the past years, domestic trade has surged 1.5 to 2 times higher than GDP growth rates.

In 2008, both retail sales and service revenues increased by 31% against 2007 while the domestic market earned US $60 billion, nearly equivalent to export turnover.
