In response to the Government chief’s decision to select April 20 as the Việt Nam Trademark Day, the event was held to honor made-in-Việt Nam products and services.

According to the survey, top-ten distinguished trademarks include Viettel (telecommunication), Agribank (banking), Bảo Việt (insurance), Heineken (beer), Metro Cash & Carry (retailing), Sony (electronics), Kinh Đô (confectionary), Nokia (mobile phone), Omo (washing powder) and Honda (motorbike).

Top 50 trademarks in Việt Nam were also revealed, with such names as VietinBank, Vinacafe Biên Hòa, VNPT (Việt Nam Post and Telecommunication Group), Vinamilk, and Petrolimex.

The survey was launched in June 2007, drawing 1,751 trademarks and over 3,000 domestic customers nationwide.

The assessment was based on the popularity of goods and services in order to determine their rank.

The survey also helped popularize trademarks and encourage enterprises to build their own brand names as well as map out proper and accurate strategies to bring goods and services to customers.
