The project’s author, MA Nguyễn Thị Bình from the Aquaculture Department of Hồ Chí Minh City’s Agriculture and Forestry University, is conferred by the WIPO with the Best Female Creator of 2008.

The study results have been transferred to An Giang Province’s center for fishery promotion and marine breeding, contributing to the preservation of the lăng nha catfish in nature.

The raising process can be applied to fresh or light brackish water areas throughout the country at household or industrial scale.

Lăng nha (Mystus Wyckiioides) catfish, the biggest species of the family Bagridae, is valuable thanks to its white meat and delicious taste.

In the nature, the fish is on the verge of extinction due to people’s over-fishing.
