PM suggests Google open representative office in VN

VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc suggested Google open official representative office in Viet Nam as many of Google’s services have been widely used by Vietnamese businesses and people.

The Government chief made the suggestion at reception for Executive Chairman of Alphabet, Inc Eric Schmidt at the Government Headquarters this morning.

The Government of Viet Nam always facilitates foreign investments in the country, including American investors, affirmed PM Phuc.

He also urged Google to coordinate closely with the Vietnamese side to prevent and remove bad information on Youtube.

According to Mr. Eric Schmidt said Viet Nam ranks second in the world in terms of the number of Youtube users, particularly for the purpose of education and home to excellent computer programmers.

Google has launched a project in Viet Nam to help train Vietnamese farmers, especially those in remote and disadvantaged areas to use information for their daily life and production, he said.

The Executive Chairman also vowed to work with Viet Nam to remove bad information on Youtube and considering opening representative office in Viet Nam.
